Rafah / Cairo — Internationally acclaimed actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie visited the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip on Friday, underscoring growing global concern over the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in the besieged Palestinian territory.
The visit focused on monitoring the delivery of international aid into Gaza and drawing attention to the worsening conditions facing civilians amid the ongoing ‘Israeli’ military assault.
According to Egyptian outlet Youm7, Jolie was received by Egyptian officials upon her arrival and toured key logistical sites supporting relief operations.
Aid Operations at the Border
During her visit, Jolie inspected Egyptian Red Crescent warehouses near the Rafah crossing, facilities that function as a central hub for humanitarian assistance entering Gaza. The warehouses coordinate the storage and movement of critical supplies, including medical equipment, food aid, and fuel, before they are transported across the border.
Humanitarian groups have repeatedly warned that restrictions on aid entry and sustained bombardment have pushed Gaza’s population toward famine and health system collapse, with border facilities playing a crucial role in mitigating shortages.
Solidarity Visit Amid Escalating Crisis
Jolie’s presence at Rafah adds to mounting international pressure to address the humanitarian emergency, particularly as civilian casualties continue to rise and access to basic necessities remains severely limited.
The actress is also expected to visit Palestinians injured in the conflict who are currently receiving medical treatment at healthcare facilities in the Egyptian border region.
A longtime advocate for refugees and displaced populations, Jolie has previously undertaken humanitarian missions in conflict zones worldwide, often using her platform to amplify civilian suffering and call for accountability.
Her visit comes as aid agencies and international observers renew calls for sustained humanitarian access, a ceasefire, and protection for civilians trapped in Gaza.
